Race description
The Run for the Memory of Nations in Chomutov is a sporting and community event held to support the nonprofit organization Post Bellum, which documents the lives of people who witnessed historical events and helps preserve their stories. The race takes place on May 1, 2026, at Wakepark Chomutov and offers a timed 5 km run and an untimed 1 km family run. The course follows a flat cycle path around the Banda reservoir and through Otvice, finishing in the car park by Banda. The event is suitable for all ages and promotes endurance and remembrance of freedom fighters.

Registration and race-bib collection are open from 8:30 to 9:45 for the 1 km run and until 10:30 for the 5 km run. Storage, restroom facilities, water at the finish, and refreshments are available. DJ Lukáš Budai will provide the music. Pupils, students under 18, members of the Memory of Nations Club, and runners over 65 receive a 50% discount on the entry fee. The start is scheduled for 08:30. Registration is available online and on site; the event includes refreshments, bag storage, and music.
