Vánoční běh Opava

The Opava Christmas Run is a traditional running race organized by the BěhOpava association team. The race covers a 4.7 km course starting on Englišova Street and heading toward Gappay (Latarna) along a farm track with an asphalt surface, with several turns before returning to the finish. Kilometer markers are placed along the course to help runners track their performance. The race is open to various age categories, from pupils to men across several age groups. The organizers provide small prizes for the top runners and hold a prize draw for additional prizes.

The course record is held by Petr Gebel, set in 1994 with a time of 13:39. Participants race at their own risk and are advised to take care when crossing roads and follow the organizers’ instructions. The finish judges are members and supporters of the BěhOpava association. The race takes place on an asphalt course with a slight uphill section, starts at the School Farm, and includes small prizes and a commemorative run.
