Race description
SILESIA cross 1/2 marathon is a traditional cross-country running race held in Opava-Kylešovice with the center at the U Chovatelů area. The race offers courses of 21 km and 13 km, which pass through scenic locations such as Raduň, Vršovice, Chvalíkovice, Hradec nad Moravicí, Branka, and Opava. The course is challenging and partially runs on roads with full traffic, requiring participants to follow fair-play rules and respect nature. Timing is measured electronically without chips, and the results are announced at the finish area. The race is canceled for 2026, but information about previous editions and courses is available.
Highlights
- The route passes through Raduň, Vršovice, Chvalíkovice, Hradec nad Moravicí, Branka, and Opava
- The race takes place on roads with full traffic, with electronic timing without chips
- Course adjustments due to fenced private land; the 21 km course does not lead to Radun Castle
Additional information
Participant registration takes place at the race center on Friday from 17:00 to 19:00 and on Saturday from 7:30 to 9:00. The start is at the playground behind the elementary school in Raduň, with the finish at the U Chovatelů area in Opava-Kylešovice. The race occurs on roads with full traffic; participants run at their own risk. Timing is electronic without chips. Due to a small number of participants in the short courses, the 750 m, 1500 m, 3 km, and 5 km races start directly at the finish area. The course is marked year-round, with additional portable signage and course officials. Entry fees increase from October 1, 2025, to 350 CZK for 21 km, 250 CZK for 13 km, and 150 CZK for shorter distances. If the fee is paid by September 26, participants can have a start number with their name. Registration usually takes place in October. The event offers various courses and is known for its specific cross-country terrain. In the past, course changes occurred due to private land.
