Race description
The Kácov Run is a traditional running race held on the last Saturday in August in the picturesque Posázaví region. It offers three main routes—the Devatenáctka, the Desítka and the Kolečko—with varied terrain and elevation that challenge both experienced runners and beginners. The start and finish are in the centre of Kácov, with refreshment stations on the longer routes. The race is timed using chip timing and accompanied by a varied programme, including children’s races and a raffle.
Highlights
- Devatenáctka: 18.8 km with 380 m of elevation gain, a mix of surfaces including forest trails and asphalt
- Desítka: 10.4 km with 160 m of elevation gain, similarly varied terrain to the Devatenáctka
- Kolečko: 2.9 km with 20 m of elevation gain, suitable for children and beginners
Additional information
The race uses chip timing, with instructions on how to position the chip correctly. Refreshment stations are available along the course and at the finish for the Devatenáctka and Desítka. A bonus competition for the fastest Kácov man/woman is available to permanent residents of Kácov. Children’s races have a voluntary entry fee and are divided by age. The race includes various categories, the surface combines roads and trails, registration is available online and on site, and the event supports local tourism.
