Běh rodným krajem Emila Zátopka

The Run Through the Homeland of Emil Zátopek is a traditional race honoring the legacy of the famous Olympic athlete Emil Zátopek. It is held each year on the Saturday closest to his birthday, September 19. The race starts in his hometown of Kopřivnice, by the statue of Emil Zátopek, and finishes at the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, after a challenging 22.3 km course with a hilly profile. The race is open to participants aged 15 and over and also offers accompanying runs for children and the public. After the race, a ceremonial awards presentation takes place with distinguished guests in attendance.

There are three refreshment stations and one water station along the course. The race takes place on roads open to traffic. The time limit is 3 hours from the start, with an intermediate cutoff of 1:20 hours to Veřovice. Changing rooms are available at the Cultural Centre in Kopřivnice and at the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov. Luggage is transported by bus to the finish. The organizer provides bus transport from Rožnov to the start and back after the race. Accommodation is available at Hotel Stadion in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm at the runner’s expense. Runners under 18 require consent from a legal guardian. The event also includes accompanying runs for children and the public. The route includes asphalt and forest paths; registration is required. Team and relay races are available, transport and accommodation are provided, and prizes are awarded.
