Race description
Run for Střížák is a traditional race held on Střížovický Hill in Ústí nad Labem, now in its 16th edition. The course consists of a loop run three times, with one significant ascent and descent, otherwise it is gently undulating. The race also includes shorter children's and pupils' runs, allowing broad public participation. The race has an interesting story because the course passes through an area that was previously threatened by planned construction, which was canceled due to residents' opposition.
Highlights
- Loop run three times
- One noticeable ascent (220 m, elevation gain 25 m)
- Gently undulating terrain with one descent of about 20 m over a 400 m segment
Additional information
Shorter children's (700 m) and pupils' (2.7 km) runs are available. The course passes through an area that was previously threatened by planned construction of a cooled hall for year-round downhill skiing, which was canceled due to residents' opposition. The race includes a raffle, refreshments, and is part of the local cross-country cup, with participation options for children and youth.
