Race description
Running Across the Republic is a unique relay event that brings runners from different parts of the Czech Republic together at a shared finish in Čihošť, the geographical centre of the country. It is not a race, but a group run at a conversational pace, with pacers on individual sections. Runners can choose any number of sections and enjoy the beauty of the Czech countryside, whether among the hills, on flat terrain, along forest trails or on city streets. The run starts on 6 June 2026 at 7:00 from four locations and ends in Čihošť on 7 June at 17:00.
Highlights
- The route runs from Liberec, Pohoří na Šumavě, Prostějov and Rokycany to Čihošť
- The total route is approximately 783 km, divided into 82 sections
- The pace is suited to recreational runners, averaging 6:00 min/km on flat terrain and slowing in the hills
Additional information
This is not a race; runners run together with pacers according to a timetable. Refreshments and support services are provided along the sections, including transport to the next relay point, subject to capacity. Runners can join or leave the running “trains” at any section. On Sunday, all routes finish together in Čihošť at 17:00.
