Race description
Běh napříč republikou is a unique event that is not a race, but a group run at a conversational pace. In 2026, it will be held for the fifth time, with four parallel routes starting from different parts of the Czech Republic (including a route from Liberec-Machnín) and heading to the geographical centre of the Czech Republic in Čihošť. The run follows a precise schedule, with pacers on every section to set the pace and guide the route. Participants can choose any number of sections to run, and stop at interesting places along the way to enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
Highlights
- The Northern route starts in Liberec-Machnín and is 185.7 km long, with 2,662 m of elevation gain
- The route passes through varied terrain—hills, flat stretches, trails, roads, forests and towns
- The pace is suited to recreational runners, averaging 6:00 min/km and slowing to 7:00 min/km on selected sections
Additional information
This is not a race; participants run together in a group with pacers who set the pace and guide the route. Organizers provide refreshments and race packs at the handover points. Participants can join or leave the running “train” at any section. The run ends with a group finish in Čihošť on Sunday at 17:00.
